Join our private client team offering expert legal advice throughout Kent.

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor (or equivalent qualification) to join the firm’s well-established, renowned and growing private client team to provide clients with a top quality personal service.

We are looking for a strong communicator who is motivated by all facets of private client work.

Following a merger in October 2020 with another local firm, the firm, specifically the private client department, benefits from a varied selection of good quality private client work.

The Role

The role is based in our beautiful offices in Chatham Maritime, Kent which accommodates free parking.  Hybrid work can also be accommodated.

The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate a good technical ability in all aspects of private client work as outlined below

  • Preparing and advising on Wills, and Lasting Powers of Attorney;
  • Creation of Trusts and management;
  • Advising on and carrying out Estate Administration;
  • Court of Protection deputyship applications and management;
  • General inheritance tax and capital gains tax and income tax advice in the context of the above areas;
  • Building relationships with their clients, keeping them up to date with progress and providing them with an efficient service in line with the dgb ethos

The new appointment will benefit from shared secretarial support.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working primarily on our online case management system and will possess the following skills, sound technical knowledge of general private client work as outlined above.

Experience of dealing with medium – high net worth individuals.

STEP accreditation/working towards an advantage.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills. Experience in dealing with clients at all levels and a proven ability to successfully market their expertise.

Office Administrator

We are seeking an office administrator to assist the team in day to day office matters at dgb Solicitors.

You will find dgb a friendly yet professional place of work, offering an unbeatable service to our extensive client portfolio.  We are a progressive law firm and will encourage the right candidate to grow into other administration, secretarial and assistant roles, providing support to our top fee earners within the firm.

We will provide all necessary training and support to fulfil the role and progress a career in law.

We are looking for a candidate who is A Level qualified (or equivalent), ideally with some experience in office administration.  Minimum Grade 5 in both Maths and English required.

The Role

This is a full time role, Monday to Friday, based in our beautiful offices in Chatham Maritime, Kent which accommodates free parking. The role is entirely office based.

The position will involve a high level of communication and interaction with clients via telephone, email and face to face. The ideal candidate will represent the company as the first point of contact for many of our clients.

Duties will include responsibility for daily incoming and outgoing post, photocopying, filing, binding of important legal documents, scanning and archiving.

There will also be the opportunity for the right candidate to get involved in more secretarial duties to offer support where needed to all the departments.

  • An excellent telephone manner and professionalism when dealing with clients and third parties;
  • A high level of both verbal and written communication skills, and able to communicate effectively with team members at all levels;
  • Demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude and be flexible and able to prioritise an ever-changing ‘to do’ list;
  • Self-motivated, trustworthy and reliable;
  • Proficient in using a computer (especially Word, Excel and MS Office)
